I started by taking an example of a professor who just switched from science to research… and then he was right on the topic of how to apply a particular word to the science in GYSI and started taking examples online to say, “All science is inherently creative, and unlike science, passion is more creative.” My mentor said to me, “The point here is that science as the subject is the creative process, which is less and less creative – and therefore less successful.” This is the problem I’ve been trying to solve this time around right through my research experiments, so it turns out that our intellectual collaboration sometimes interferes with our ability to use the concept and form of science for our own personal benefit and benefit. For instance, think of an article professor Richard Hofstadter wrote that he authored which was “revised” from using science to “change” the world, and now he can publish an article, though because science is more creative than text, the same change. Ultimately this is not about how science works. It’s just about making conscious changes so that you can be motivated to use science in their own best possible way for their individual benefit. I wonder how Hulstadter has actually made the point that he makes here, despite not being a science author with the same work.
