One of the teams they worked with was the U.S. Games Industry Institute, which is a program of The Game Business Partnership. Their first-term partner, Bob Hoch (recently designated James D. Fuster Jr.), led their entire team, and they brought us some success. During their first months so far implementing one of the new series, Hoch hired Steve P. Skoulak, a commercial software design consultant and former EA Sports developer, to ensure his team had better skills than they did before. His clientele included big names in the war on the $500,000 studio budget: Nick Fisher, chief innovation officer; Richard Walker, senior director and head of digital; Jeyron Tsamadze, architect; and Matt Smith, director and project leader.

“We are in a crucial position to sort out and manage a lot of these types of challenges for the first couple of years,” explains Skoulak. “Everything that got me thinking about the role of this whole unit was just a model of how the game-maker model should look.
